Summer Photo Walks

Come explore the Village on a quiet Summer day where photo opportunities abound! While we are closed to the general public, join one of our staff photographers as she guides you through the Village, both inside and out. Learn how to frame shots, explore working with light and shadows, and walk away with some great photographs!

Please make sure to wear comfortable shoes. We encourage dressing for the weather; the walk will take place both indoors and out. While more than one battery is not required, it is recommended.

Great Easter Egg Hunt

Children ages 10 and under are invited to participate in a Great Easter Egg Hunt at 2:00 pm. Participants should meet at the Bee Hive Exhibit. Children can find up to 6 eggs each and redeem them for a free cookie in the Bake Shop.

Militia Weekend

In the 1830s, all male American citizens from 18 to 30 were active members of their local militia companies. Labor Day weekend will feature all the sights and sounds of the training days that these companies took part in at least twice a year. The days’ events will include everything from cannon and musket demonstrations, to martial music and sham battles, and even live firing of muskets at targets. Come join us for what was one of the most storied events of the year for New Englanders in the 1830s.

Please join us for the 10th Annual Old Sturbridge Village Gala. The Village's largest fundraising event of the year, the Gala includes fabulous cocktail and elegant stations, live and silent auctions

The American Revolution through Painter’s Eyes with Paul Staiti

Great Scout Camp Out

Calling all Scouts! Join us for a unique camping experience in the countryside of Old Sturbridge Village! On Saturday, June 3, Cub and Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and their families are invited to pitch their tents in the Village and enjoy an evening of tours and activities throughout the museum. The evening will be topped off with stories by a roaring bonfire. Not a scout? All families are welcome!

Participants will enjoy a barbecue dinner and continental breakfast in the morning. Two-day admission to the Village is included.

Exhibition Tour: Cabinetmaking in Early 19th Century New England

From coffins and chairs to clock cases and chests of drawers, cabinetmakers produced a wide variety of objects, both every-day and exceptional, using a range of techniques and tools. Join a member of the curatorial staff for a guided tour of the new exhibition highlighting the cabinetmaking trade, and hear about some of the interesting research finds recently discovered!
 
Open to all visitors with regular daytime admission.
