Special Home School Admission Rates

Home School Admission Rates:

  • If you are planning on visiting the museum during the week or on the weekends, regular ticket pricing applies. For admission pricing, click here.
  • We no longer offer a special homeschool rate except on Home School Days (see below for more information).
  • Reduced rates are available when registered as a group. If you would like to register as a homeschool group, please call (508) 347-0274.
  • Groups must be registered in advance.
  • Members are free as always. If you are interested in becoming a member, click  here.

Home School Group Visits:

Home School Days:

Cost is $10 per child. Homeschool parents receive the discounted $15 admission rate at a ratio of one adult to one child between the ages of 5 and 17. Members are free as always. Home School workshops are an additional $5-$15. We welcome Home School families to the Village for a unique learning experience. Check out our Home School Day Guide here.

Our themed Home School Days offer you and your children the opportunity to visit the Village and join in hands-on activities. We recommend that you allow three hours to visit the Village in addition to scheduled hands-on studios. Online registration opens one month prior to each event.

Hop into History Overnight

Hands-on studio activities, storytelling, 1830s games and an evening tour will make for a very special visit. Available for home school families with children 5-17 years old.  Includes two-day admission, all overnight activities, evening snack and a continental breakfast. Cooking a 19th-Century Meal

Grades 4 and up
$75.00 per person* ($750.00 minimum) *includes museum admission

This fully immersive program allows students to work as a team to prepare a hearth-cooked meal using 19th-century methods and utensils. They will learn basic cooking techniques, then learn historic dining customs and etiquette as they enjoy the meal they prepared. Please allow 3 hours for the meal in addition to 1-3 hours to visit the Village. Groups of more than 40 individuals should call for special arrangements.

Ages 6-17
Two-day program – prices begin at $150 per student; $1500 group minimum
Five-day program – prices begin at $300 per student; $3000 group minimum

These alternative education programs are specifically designed for both special education students seeking a hands-on learning experience in a stimulating, multi-sensory environment, and for advanced history scholars interested in an in-depth content-rich scholarly engagement.

Program may include dressing in an early 19th-century costume, taking on the role of an actual early New England resident, cooking over an open hearth, making a craft, attending District School, touring the Village, and interacting with the costumed historians in unique ways.
