Do you quilt?
Have you always wanted to try quilting?
Here’s your chance!
In the summer of 2017 we will begin our fifth annual Members Quilt Challenge! All current Members are eligible. The challenge is to design and make a quilted entry based on some aspect of an artifact quilt selected from the Old Sturbridge Village collection. The inspiration quilt is a beautiful Sunburst pattern created by S.S. Larkin in 1833. All types of quilted entries are welcome – traditional, contemporary, miniatures, garments, or accessories – as long as they include a link to the specified quilt and include some of each of the five provided challenge fabrics.
All of the challenge entries will be on display in the Old Sturbridge Village Visitor Center Brewer Theater during Thanksgiving week, Christmas by Candlelight, and Christmas vacation week. Throughout the exhibit, visitors to Old Sturbridge Village will have the opportunity to cast one vote for their favorite entry through December 31, 2017. Winners will be announced the week of January 1st.
Completed registration forms and an entry fee of $10 must be received by November 3, 2017, with the entries to arrive at Old Sturbridge Village by November 19, 2017.
