Knowlton Family Days

Thanks to generous support from the Knowlton family, Connecticut residents will enjoy FREE admission to Old Sturbridge Village on Saturdays in November, 2017. Adults must show proof of Connecticut residency in the form of a valid driver's license.

Keith & Elaine Knowlton

Keith and Elaine Knowlton, of Brooklyn, Connecticut, have been members of Old Sturbridge Village for more than 40 years. Their deep interest in history is evidenced by their volunteer work with their local historical society and photo albums of their many visits to Old Sturbridge Village over the years with their daughter. From 2013-2016, the Knowltons have sponsored a matching challenge to support free field trips to the Village for Connecticut school children, but this year they wanted to expand access for all families in the state.
"We know first-hand," said Keith Knowlton, "how history can come alive. There are many opportunities for a rich encounter with history at Old Sturbridge Village, whose collections are plentiful and rich, with historic buildings and lively and informative costumed interpreters. We are excited to make this incredible experience accessible to more Connecticut residents."
"We are sincerely grateful that more Connecticut families will be able to encounter living history at the Village thanks to the Knowltons' generous support," said James Donahue, President and CEO of Old Sturbridge Village.
