Join Historian and Curator of Mechanical Arts Tom Kelleher, Collections Manager and Curator of Textiles Rebecca Beall, and Director of Collections and Research Derek Heidemann as they discuss the past, present and future of the Old Sturbridge Village collection.  OSV founders and brothers Albert B. Wells and Joel Cheney Wells acquired around half of the objects in the museum’s collection between 1910 and 1950s. The collection now includes around 40,000 objects representing life in rural New England during the period from 1790 to 1840. Ranging from tools for domestic and commercial use, to locally made and imported ceramics and textiles, the collection is large and continually growing. In this webinar, members of the Collections and Research Department will detail the history of the collection, how they house and care for these many and varied objects, and what their plans are to increase the accessibility of this cherished collection.
