Old Sturbridge Village recently received funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities to support the rehousing of over 300 garments in the Village’s collection of historic costumes. These garments, including silk gowns, everyday work dresses, woolen capes, shawls, coats and more, form part of the Village’s textile collection of approximately 6,500 objects. Visit the collections storage building to learn what goes into caring for these historic garments – from specialty boxes and acid-free tissue to custom garment bags and special hangers.
Space is limited to 15 participants. Meets at the Visitor Center. The program will last 60 minutes.
Free with Village admission.
