Meets in the Visitor Center
The Old Sturbridge Village costume collection contains numerous examples of cleverly modified garments. These modifications were made to make a garment more fashionable as styles changed, to alter a garment to fit a different shape, or in some cases, take a garment and turn it into something entirely new. Examples of thrift can also be seen in the use of piecing and creative cutting visible in many period garments. Join a member of the curatorial staff for an examination of some of these fascinating objects.
Space is limited to 15 participants. Meets at the Visitor Center. The program will last 45 minutes.
Free with Village admission.
