To help Garden Thyme speakers and leaders plan accordingly for their program and, in some cases, communicate with interested members ahead of time, pre-registration is required. Click here to register.
This seed-starting workshop will provide you with all the tips you need to successfully start your own seedlings indoors. We will cover the basics of starting common plants such a tomatoes and annual flowers, as well as address seed treatment techniques that will hasten or improve germination on more difficult species. The proper use of supplemental light and heat will also be covered. Participants will leave with a seed pack to germinate at home. Limited to 20 participants.
UPDATED LOCATION: The location of this program was originally listed as the Greenhouse but due to unforeseen circumstances, it will now take place in the Museum Education Lunchroom. You are welcome to park at Museum Education (see map here) so that you do not have to carry your seed start through the Museum.
Garden Thyme programs are held on a select Saturday each month and are FREE for members of Old Sturbridge Village. Led by Village horticultural and agricultural staff, these programs and workshops are held at various sites and deal with a variety of plant-related themes and topics.
