From the Archives: The Baylies Iron Works Ledger

How do we know what we know? Old Sturbridge Village was recently given the late 18th century business accounts of Nichols Baylies, who ran an iron works in Taunton, Massachusetts. By examining these business records we get a unique glimpse into the lives of some early New Englanders, as well as some mysteries yet to solve.
