Fitch House (Building #21) Spring is exciting for everyone, farmers’ and mechanics’ families alike! Stop by here to see how a non-farming family might change how they feed their family as the weather continues to warm.
Freeman Farm (Building #36) Spring is around the corner, and with it, its own labors and concerns. Learn about seasonal food and domestic work on a traditional, middling farm as winter transitions into spring.
Trades
Blacksmith Shop (Building #39) Our smiths are hard at work forging components for the Stagecoach, a closed horse-drawn vehicle used to carry passengers.
Tin Shop (Building #15) Experience our Tinners creating authentic reproductions of household items made from tinned sheet iron.
Pottery Shop and Kiln (Building #34) Explore the world of pottery and see pots being made at the potter’s wheel.
The Carryall (weather permitting)
We offer a horse-drawn carryall ride included with the price of admission. From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:30 to 4:30 pm you can board behind the Bullard Tavern (#3) or in front of the Blacksmith Shop (#39) about every 20 minutes for a ride around the Mill Pond. From 12:00-1:30 pm there is no Carryall operating.

Learn about the long history of parades in this region, and their many purposes. Visit all three of the exhibitions’ locations in the Visitor Center (#2C), Countryside Gallery (#40), and Armed & Equipped Militia Exhibit (#26).
The Environmental Point of View
Woodland Walk (#47) A short hike along Pogus Brook to a wooded viewing platform.
Pasture Walk (#49) Takes you to the top of Powder House Hill, offering views of the pastured landscape.
River Walk (#50) Best views of the Wight Dam and a peaceful setting to enjoy the Quinebaug River.
