Rectangular sign, constructed of a single pine board, with molding around all four edges; white background paint; black lettering reads: “Amasa Blanchard/CABINET & CHAIR/MAKER;” his name in script and his titles in block letters.
Descended in the family of the donor’s husband, who lived at Elm Hill in Brookfield. Blanchard is identified as a cabinetmaker on deeds in 1797 and 1830.
