Pair of common or plank seat side chairs with original painted decoration. Flat, rectangular crest rail morticed with single wooden peg through post at bottom of crest rail. Four tapered and bent balled rods. Horseshoe- shaped seat with incised line at back in front of posts and rods. Bamboo turned legs and stretchers. Chairs painted yellow with brown and black striping. Posts have central forked brown stripe with black outline. Stencil on crest rail: red-orange pear, brown/green leaves. Free-hand black tendrils and seeds at center of pear. Stenciled mark: JD Pratt/Lunenburg, Ma/Warrented.
