Bowfront four drawer chest with cut-out top, turned legs and cyma scrolled skirt. Top with quarter-rounded rear corners and three-quarter round front corners. Checkerboard inlay band along top edge. Rear corners of the case with quarter turned columns with ring turnings at the top, middle, and bottom, terminating in bulbous turned legs.. Front corners of the case with three-quarter turned columns with ring turnings at the top, middle, and bottom, terminating in bulbous turned legs. Ogee scrolled skirt with C scrolls at the corners, and flanking a central oval of bird’s eye maple with surrounding string inlay. Dark wood inlay above skirt. Plain sides (cherry). Graduated drawers with cockbead molding nailed on 4 edges, mitered border of mahogany veneer, inner panel with bird’s eye maple, outlined of banded dark/light wood inlay. Each drawer has 2 oval HJ stamped bail handled brass pulls with central rose, central oval keyhole escutcheon with 2 screws and double-leaf border. Stamp: “Spooner & Fitts Athol”
