Take a journey into the past and experience first-hand what life was like in 19th-century rural New England’s countryside by spending a night in the Emerson Bixby House, home of a Blacksmith/Farmer and his family.

This immersive experience gives you the chance to dress in costume, cook a meal over the open hearth, try your hand at a historical skill or trade, do farm chores, sleep overnight in the Bixby House at Old Sturbridge Village, and more! All combined, it will be a unique and memorable experience!

As the experience is designed for up to seven participants, please be aware that you may be with other guests. There are three separate rooms each with a bed that sleeps two, separate cots will be available. Children 10 and over are welcome to attend. Space is limited and pre-registration is required – learn more about how to sign up below.

Cost: $325 per person ($275 for OSV Members)

What's Included in the Experience?

Included in this experience are costumed historians guiding your activities, 19th-century costumes, two hours learning a craft/skill in an OSV exhibit, preparing an evening supper and morning breakfast, helping with morning farm chores and, of course, the opportunity to sleep in a 19th-century-bedchamber.
