Daily ActivitiesAfter collecting data, students create a chart showing the proportion of time family members spend in various activities. In Lesson 6, modern use of time will be compared to that of the early 19th century. (Group 3)

TraditionsUsing a survey, students will gather information about family traditions and stories to compare with families living in early 19th-century New England.

Making and Keeping a JournalDirections for making simple journals for students to record their own thoughts and activities in. Journals can be used as an assessment tool.

19th-Century JournalsStudents are introduced to primary source journals and what can be learned from them.
