Responsibilities:
The Research Library Intern will assist with the organization and cataloging of materials in its research libary. Responsibilities will include:
- Entering information for all newly accessioned books into the online database
- Writing cards for newly accessioned manuscripts
- Creating listings of books shelved in the annex room
- Compiling a collection of Museum History from archival "Old Spy" issues, postcards, visitor photos, and memorabilia
- Participating in an ongoing inventory of the library's book collection
- Performing general clerical duties as needed
- Completing genealogical research relating to an artifact
- Scanning slides to specifications for publication
- Researching topics in print and/or images
This position is offered for academic credit and is not paid. Interested applicants submit a written application and are interviewed (by phone or in person).
Hours:
Internship available year-round: fall semester, spring semester, and summer. The work day is from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; work schedules vary by department.
