An introduction to the early New England militia, including customs & traditions of local militia, training of those called to muster - discipline, drills, arms, clothing & personal equipment, camping & cooking and fife music. Participants will take on the roles of real 18th- and 19th-century Sturbridge Militia or retired Revolutionary War veterans.

Learn the basics of knitting and stitching. These were important skills for chlildren to learn early as they needed to help make items that could not be purchased. Create a simple and fancy sewn item as well as a knitted good to take home!  Make simple tools to assist you in your work.
