Home School Days offer you and your children the opportunity to visit the Village and participate in hands-on activities and participatory programs. This is a great opportunity for children to gain exposure to many aspects of 1830s New England life in an interactive way.
The theme of this Home School Day is A Child's Life. What has changed and what hasn't? Explore the changing world of children through their toys, their clothes, and their work. Like their modern counterparts, children in the 19th century played with dolls and toy animals, were expected to help with household work, went to school and looked forward to being "grown up." Learn about the work and play of children in the past!
Also, visit the Village and participate in hands-on activities and participatory programs. We recommend that you allow for up to three hours to visit the Village. If time permits, consider making a quick craft in the Hands-on Crafts Center; $5-10 per activity (first come, first served); some age and safety restrictions apply. And, be sure to visit the animals - May is a great time for babies on the farm!
