Critter Counter - New Arrivals at the Village

Welcome to the Critter Counter, the page that keeps track of animal arrivals at the Village.

At left is a photo of our latest arrival - a calf born on Friday, June 17.

Several lambs have been born since February 2011. Our most recent lamb was born in mid-May. One of our earliest lambs of the season is pictured at right with his mother.

Doc & Blue, our young team of oxen-in-training, recently marked their first birthdays and are adjusting to life in the Village quite well. There's a good chance you'll run into them during your next visit -- they are typically out training or relaxing at the Towne Farm. Their distinctive markings identify them as members of the Randall Lineback breed. The training takes time so these two will come up (pun intended) behind Lance and Henry, our Devon team who are now working full-time at Freeman Farm. See a slide show.

Be sure to plan a visit to meet the baby animals, and check back as this page will be updated with news of any recent arrivals.

In the meantime, you may sign up for Old Sturbridge Village's E-Newsletter, or become a fan on Facebook for regular updates on activities at the Village.
