Take a Closer Look is a new monthly program open to all OSV Members. Held at 10 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month, this program invites a closer look with a Village specialist.

An exciting summer event featuring historical 19th-century hand-pump fire wagons and a summer favorite: ice cream.

Garden Thyme is a monthly program open to all OSV Members. Held the third Saturday of each month at 10 a.m., this program looks at a variety of topics for the experienced and novice gardener.

The Temple Band, based in Temple, NH, was formed in 1799 and performs this summer in hometowns throughout New England, including a special appearance at Old Sturbridge Village on Sunday, July 19.

Spend an afternoon on Broadway by way of Old Sturbridge Village. Enjoy lunch at the Oliver Wight Tavern followed by a direct-from-Broadway cabaret show entitled "Merry Magical Musicale." The Brewer Theater is transformed into Cabaret Lulu for an ever-changing kaleidoscope of great performance.

The Village is transformed into a series of military camps and visitors are invited to meet and mingle with re-enactors from both sides of America's historical conflicts. To mark one of just a handful of holidays on the early New England calendar, Old Sturbridge Village re-creates various activities from an early New England Thanksgiving Day, including cooking at the hearth, demonstrations of 19th-century table manners, a Thanksgiving sermon, and after-dinner entertainment.

Come watch the Village marksmen display their musket-firing skills in friendly competition.

Thanksgiving was a favorite time for many early 19th-century marriages, as family gathered for the holiday. Visit with the bride as she prepares for the wedding and enjoy a dramatic presentation about the couple?s courtship and marriage, including their re-created wedding ceremony.

Experience the magic of a candlelit Village at Christmas time and explore the history of the holiday's traditions.

Celebrate New England with the entire family during December School Vacation Week. Winter in New England brings fresh snow and days of brilliant sunshine, and Old Sturbridge Village brings cozy fires.

This unique evening event offers families an opportunity to prepare -- and sit down to eat together -- a complete dinner by the hearth with the help of historically costumed staff.

It's a day to embrace the joys of an old-fashioned winter -- indoors and out. Join us today at the Village's Mill Pond to learn about ice harvesting in early New England. Then stop by the Bullard Tavern for some magical moments by the fire.

A visit to Old Sturbridge Village during February school vacation week is sure to be a highlight. Special activities are planned all week, and sleigh rides -- weather permitting -- will be offered on the Common.

On weekend days in March, see maple sugaring as it was done in early 19th-century rural New England and learn why the final product historically was sugar, not syrup.

Have fun with Dad at Old Sturbridge Village on his special day.  Learn about what life was like for fathers and kids in early New England.  Challenge Pop to a game of marbles or a hoop race.  Stop by the Hands-On Crafts Center for hands-on blacksmithing or tinmaking.

Opening Memorial Day Weekend is the museum's newest permanent exhibit, Farm, Families and Change, including new displays in three of the Village's restored barns.  The exhibit addresses questions that resonate today:  "Where does our food come from?" and "Why does the New England landscape look the way it does?"

Now on display in the Visitor Center at OSV's entrance, this exhibit invites exploration of the art and business of gardening in flowerpots in 19th-century New England.
