The Overseers are a group of volunteers who are Ambassadors to the Village. At their September 27th 2008 Fall Meeting, the Overseers presented the following Membership Challenge to each of its committee members: recruit two or more people to Membership in the Village by December 31, 2008. But they didn't stop there: the goal is to increase attendance at the Village, and grow the Membership by at least 400 people.

The Overseers saw the wisdom in promoting this Challenge member-wide and in turn, have issued this Challenge: talk with your family, friends and business associates. Tell them how much you love and enjoy our Village; it's a place to learn about the old ways of life, an educational living history museum which makes learning fun while creating long lasting family memories. Ask them to support Old Sturbridge Village by becoming a member. First and second place prizes will be awarded for the most Memberships sold. Gift memberships and renewing your own membership can be counted toward the goal. First Prize: Sunday Brunch for 6 at the Oliver Wight Tavern. Second Prize: $50 Gift Certificate to the Old Sturbridge Village Museum Gift Shop.
