Intern Programs at OSV
Old Sturbridge Village is now accepting applications for college-level internships. These internships are excellent opportunities for undergraduate or graduate students interested in American history focusing on the 1830s and the Industrial Revolution and agricultural history as well as the museum education field.
Internship opportunities are available in historical interpretation in our living history museum, primary and secondary education, program development, in diversity, costuming, and marketing. All interns will have the opportunity to use the research library, spend time in our collections, and observe different levels of management.
While the positions are unpaid, two applicants will be awarded the Moir Intern Scholarship.
Moir Intern Scholarship
Old Sturbridge Village is very excited to announce the Moir Internship which will be awarded to two college interns in the amount of $1,500 each starting the summer of 2009.
The Moir Internship is funded through the Moir Education Endowment and was created to honor Old Sturbridge Village's past chairman Bruce D. Moir, for his service to the museum during a period of significant change and transition.
Bruce’s passion for history is second only to his commitment to education and the development of young minds in the interest of cultivating the next generation of historians, collectors, and preservationists.
To that end, the Moir Internship is designed to provide a rich and rigorous summer experience to two college students who have demonstrated an interest in the study of American History -- possibly with the intent to enter the field professionally -- while assisting the Village in its efforts to fulfill its mission. This is a competitive internship. It is our hope that the Moir intern will represent the best and the brightest of young people studying history at the collegiate level.

Applicants must have completed at least one year of college before the start of the internship. (Applicants who are younger should know about our Junior Intern program. ) Internship period is ten weeks, from June 1 to August 7, 2010. Housing may be available for a fee; contact the internship coordinator for more information. Transportation is not provided.
