Old Sturbridge Village offers several programs which provide a unique look at early American dining. Using only early 19th-century methods and "receipts" (recipes), meals are cooked over the hearth and enjoyed by participants.
Check the Hearth Cooking Events list in the right column for upcoming dates.
Dinner in a Country Village
Participants do all the food preparation themselves under the guidance of a costumed historian. Limited to 14 adults (age 18 and older. - see Families Cook for a similar program open to younger participants.) This event sells out quickly.
Families Cook

Hearthside Bounty
Experience an evening in a 19th-century tavern, complete with a meal cooked over the hearth by OSV staff, old-fashioned entertainment and a look into table manners of the 1800s. Designed for an adult audience. Currently scheduled for January 25, February 22, and March 22.
