Primary Source Documents
Primary sources are original records that document past events and conditions. They include letters, diaries, business records, legal records, publications and other documents that were created at the time, as well as reminiscences of past events written by participants. The documents in this database are primarily about life and events in New England during the early years of the American nation, from the 1790s through the 1840s. Most are from the collections of Old Sturbridge Village.
