Discovery Camp Scholars:
- Engage in experiential learning
- Dress in 1830s costume
- Take on the role of a real Sturbridge resident from the early 1800s
- Eat lunch and play games on the Common
- Cook by the hearth
- Make a 19th-century craft
- Attend school in the District School
- Tour the Village
- Interact with villagers of the past in unique ways
Box Lunches for Discovery Campers Box lunches contain a sandwich, celery and carrot sticks, apple, and dessert. Choose either a turkey, ham, or tuna sandwich. Box lunches ($35 per week, per child) need to be ordered and paid for with registration.
Discovery Camps PlusBack by popular demand, this extended day program lets kids have a little extra time as an 1830s villager. Spend a quiet afternoon listening to stories, visiting the Village exhibits, making crafts, and more. Monday through Friday, 3-5 p.m., $100 per child. Note: space is limited to ten students per week. The program will be canceled if fewer than two scholars are registered in a given week.
