| Description | Pieced quilt in the "Irish Chain" pattern. Squares containing smaller squares of a figured printed cotton (green with yellow, blue and black) alternate with plain white squares. White squares are stitched in white with a variety of decorative patterns: flowers, cornucopia, grapes, geometric abstractions, etc. Some are hearts with mottoes in them: "Love and Friendship," etc. Center squares are: "A," "T," "E," and "1806." Backed in coarse white cotton, edged in woven tape. | |
