Keep the kids busy during February school vacation week with a mix of invigorating outdoor fun and cozy indoor activities and hands-on crafts. 

Presidents' Day weekend brings remembrances of George Washington; Villagers celebrate his memory the way early New Englanders did, with toasting and merriment.  Everyone named "George" or "Martha" gets free admission on the Monday holiday (Feb. 15).  And all visitors can have a ball when the Old Sturbridge Village dancers demonstrate dances of the period on Sunday (Feb. 14).

Highlights for the remainder of the week include outdoor winter fun (weather permitting), puppet shows, hearthside cooking, candle-making and butter churning.  Make and take home a "thaumatrope," a 19th-century toy that fools the eye.
