A highlight of the day after Thanksgiving is when competing Village marksmen re-create a popular and exciting men's pastime of the 1830s with flintlock guns and black powder. At the end of the busy harvest season, shooting matches brought men together to visit, wager, win prizes and, of course, prove who was the best shot. There will be shooting matches on this day from 10:30am to noon and again from 1 to 2:30pm. Other Village activities on this day include crafts demonstrations, farm work, hands-on activities, musical performances and storytelling, and stagecoach rides (extra fee).
