Faces of the Past
Jack Larkin, chief historian and museum scholar

Who were these people and what can we learn from their portraits? You'll see portraits by important and noteworthy artists of the 19th century, as well as everyday pieces created by less-established “limners.”

Jack will discuss how these portraits reflect the lives and values of early New Englanders, and how they serve as important references for everything from period hair styles to painted chairs here at Old Sturbridge Village.
