Redcoats & Rebels
August 1, 2009 - August 2, 2009

Sponsored by Citizen's Bank

The Village is transformed into a series of military camps and visitors are invited to meet and mingle with re-enactors from both sides of colonial and early America's military conflicts. Come see what it was really like for those who fought to win America's freedoms. Great fun for the entire family! Linger into the evening on Saturday to visit the encampments by twilight.

camp cookingIn addition to strolling the Village and visiting the encampments, mornings on both days include a tour of a British camp, an 18th-century fencing demonstration, marching, drilling, and firing demonstrations, and a military fashion show.  Afternoon highlights each day include a fashion show of ladies' wear from the late 18th-century period, a parade of units to the countryside, and a mock battle when the Patriots face off against the Redcoats.  Fife & drum music and cannon demonstrations are offered both days, morning and afternoon.  Throughout the day Saturday only, Battlegroup Boston, New England's oldest miniature gaming group, presents historical miniature gaming.
