Families Cook

This unforgettable school vacation week experience invites families with children ages 8 and up to prepare and eat a complete 19th-century dinner by the hearth. Historically costumed staff will help interpret the receipts (recipes) and share tips, but you'll be learning the hearth cooking techniques and working alongside other families to prepare a delicious meal.

Bring the grandparents and cousins, too!

The receipts (recipes) to be used this year are:
Pounded Cheese
Mulled Cider
Roasted Stuffed Chicken
Mashed Potatoes
Roasted Carrots
Cranberry Sauce
Long Rolls
Apple Pie
Trifle
Coffee, Hot Chocolate
Sparkling Cider

The evening is limited to a total of 14 adults and children (ages 8 and up).
Registration for this program is online and opens in mid-August.

Also, see Dinner in a Country Village for a similar -- but adults-only -- version of this program, offered on select Saturdays from November through March.

$85 per person; $75 for OSV Members
