Be transported back in time by a hay ride from the Visitor Center to the Freeman Farm for a "traditional" apple paring party. Upon arrival at the farm, the festivities begin.

In the house, simple refreshments await: donuts fried at the hearth, mulled cider, and pounded cheese.

A barn dance features our own Old Sturbridge Village dance group and will incorporate several visitor participatory dances.

By the fireside there will be storytelling (seasonal and ghost stories), fiddle music and songs, apple-paring games -- where visitors can learn about the significance of throwing the peels -- and a husking bee.

This will be a real 19th-century harvest party! At the end of the party, the carry-all brings guests back to the present and returns them to the Visitor Center.
