Garden Thyme is a monthly program open to all OSV Members. Held the third Saturday of each month at 10 a.m., this program looks at a variety of topics for the experienced and novice gardener.

This two-day costumed adventure is a time for kids to make new friends, have fun, enjoy all that is wonderful about winter and engage in the history of early 19th-century New England!

The Village is open on this Monday holiday for visitors to experience everyday life in an early New England town in winter, and to pay tribute to the 20th-century civil rights leader by presenting characterizations of 19th-century individuals with New England ties who played significant roles in the 19th-century movement to abolish slavery.

It's a day to embrace the joys of an old-fashioned winter -- indoors and out. Join us today at the Village's Mill Pond to learn about ice harvesting in early New England. Then stop by the Bullard Tavern for some magical moments by the fire. (Ice harvesting is ice conditions and weather permitting.)

See more than two dozen horse-drawn antique sleighs glide silently over the snow and compete for prizes.

Home School Days are a great opportunity for you and your children to gain exposure to the life and work of an early 19th-century rural New England community.

See antique Valentines and learn about their history; learn about the processing of chocolate -- from bean to beverage.

In collaboration with The Last Green Valley (TLGV), OSV and TLGV Members are invited to bring their Valentines for a special celebration.

The museum's newest permanent exhibit, Farm, Families and Change, includes new displays in three of the Village's restored barns.  The exhibit addresses questions that resonate today:  "Where does our food come from?" and "Why does the New England landscape look the way it does?"

This exhibit will explore the changing world of childhood during the first half of the 19th century through their toys, their clothes, and their work.

Kids get free admission during December school vacation week and throughout January. (Must be accompanied by at least one paid adult, does not apply to school groups.)
