The Fenno Textile Exhibit
Learn about the home production of textiles in early New England and find out what the changes in factory production meant to fashions at home and in everyday dress. Try your hand at carding wool, weaving a pattern, and piecing a quilt block with colorful tiles.

See rarely-displayed drums, fifes, and related artifacts from the Village’s collections. In the Firearms & Textiles building.

Mended and Re-Used Textiles

Dairying in Early New England
Head to the Towne House – to the lower level where dairying was done – to learn about butter- and cheese-making and what time of year it was done.
Home Life in the 1830s
An exploratory exhibit for all ages in the Fitch House on the Common. Open the drawers, sit on the beds, imagine yourself living in an 1830s household.

Explore the harvest from New England’s forests; located at the start of the Woodland Walk.

9:30-4:00 Village Café – in the Oliver Wight Tavern. Open for coffee and muffins in the morning and snacks for the ride home. Light lunch is offered if you want to rest awhile in our warm atmosphere

Stop in for soup and sandwiches for lunch. Today’s soups are New England Clam Chowder and Tomato Vegetable. Don’t forget that you get a free hot beverage with the purchase of a mug. New England brand coffee is served daily. Our flavored coffee today is Maple.
10:00-4:30 Museum Gift Shop & Book Store –
Purchase an OSV blanket and let us send it to the troops. Seeds are in! Get started on this year’s garden and scratch that springtime itch! Ask for a free sample of our homemade fudge.

Celebrate St. Patrick at the Oliver Wight Tavern
The Tap Room is transformed into an Irish Pub on Saturday, March 13, from 11:30am to 4pm. Enjoy a lunch menu inspired by the Emerald Isle or just take time out for a pint of Guinness. On Sunday, March 14 (10am-2pm), the regular brunch menu includes an Irish Breakfast. Reservations for both at 508-347-0363.
