The Tavern and the Stagecoach
The stagecoach runs on weekends, but head to the Bullard Tavern today to learn about travel in the 1830s and the role of taverns in the community.

The Drummers’ Call: Martial Music in Early New England
See rarely-displayed drums, fifes, and related artifacts from the Village’s collections. In the Firearms & Textiles building.
Too Good to Be Rags:
Mended and Re-Used Textiles See items from the Village’s collections that tell stories through evidence of darning, patching, mending, or alteration. In the Firearms & Textiles building.
The Fenno Textile Exhibit
Learn about the home production of textiles in early New England and find out what the changes in factory production meant to fashions at home and in everyday dress. Try your hand at carding wool, weaving a pattern, and piecing a quilt block with colorful tiles.
Home Life in the 1830s
An exploratory exhibit for all ages in the Fitch House on the Common. Open the drawers, sit on the beds, imagine yourself living in an 1830s household.
Dairying in Early New England
This was the time of year when early New Englanders "dried off" the cows (not sure what this means? Ask a farmer!); head to the Towne House – to the lower level where dairying was done – to learn about butter- and cheese-making and what time of year it was done.

Upcoming Events
Thanksgiving Day Celebration – Nov. 26
This was an important holiday in the 1830s and many elements of it are re-created for visitors. More details at www.osv.org.

Thanksgiving Weekend – Nov. 27-29
Holiday festivities continue with a re-creation of a shooting match on Friday, Nov. 27, and a re-creation of an early New England wedding on Saturday, Nov. 28. The Village is also open on Sunday, Nov. 29. Space still available for dining on Friday; details at www.osv.org.

Twelve Nights of Christmas - Dec. 3-6; 10-13; 17-20

Plan now to spend a festive candlelit evening here in Dec.…tickets on sale now at www.osv.org. Plan on Dinner by Candlelight in the Oliver Wight Tavern, with seatings from 4 to 8pm on these 12 evenings.

      Catch a ride on OSV's stagecoach, operating on weekends through November, including Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after.
