Submissions to the 2013 Member Quilt Challenge were on display in the OSV Visitor Center Gallery from June 5 - July 7. On July 3 - 4, each visitor to Old Sturbridge Village had the opportunity to cast one vote for their favorite entry. The Viewers’ Choice winners were announced and prizes were awarded on July 4.
All current OSV Members were eligible to enter. The challenge was to design and make a quilted entry based on an artifact quilt from the OSV Collection. The hexagonal quilt was made in 1808 by Phebe Winsor of Johnston, Rhode Island. All types of quilted entries were welcome – traditional, contemporary, miniatures, garments, or accessories – as long as they include some link to the specified quilt and include some of each of the five provided challenge fabrics.
We extend our thanks to everyone who entered for their beautiful and creative quilts. The exhibit was much admired and appreciated by all our Visitors.
